California and the Cruise

We went to California for Preston's Wedding (Derek's brother) and decided to make it an adventurous vacation before we start our journey called Dental School.  We went on a cruise to Catalina Island and Ensenada Mexico with Nicholette and John Sperry.  We had a blast!

The moment she saw us when we got back was a priceless moment that I will never forget.  She was so ecstatic and walking around everywhere (thanks to Parker her 9 month old cousin).

A couple of months ago when I would get Ashlyn after her nap, she used to reach out for me excited to get out of the crib.  Now she giggles while I attempt to grab her out of the crib.

Happy Easter!

 When Ashlyn got up Easter Morning, she found a trail of Easter Eggs filled with cheerios.  She only was interested in the first three eggs and moved right over to her toys.  Maybe next year we will put chocolate inside the eggs, not cheerios.

The Accident

Derek was driving down University Ave in Provo and someone rear-ended him.  Luckily everyone was okay.  So we had to say goodbye to the Taurus and say hello to our new Ford Focus.  We are so excited to drive this beauty!

YEAH! We ran a HALF MARATHON!!

On President's Day, Derek and I ran our own half marathon (13.1 miles).  We were going to run on the Hobble Creek path, but we woke up to a nice new snowfall. So we executed plan B and went to the Orem Rec Center.  We figured out how many times we had to run around the track and it came to 82 laps.  We ran it in 2.5 hours.  It would have been fun to run side by side but we thought we would go at different paces the whole time.  Derek passed me once and then we kept the same pace at opposite ends of the track.  We ran it just right where we weren't out of breath, but were so exhausted at the end.   Our right calves were significantly more sore than our lefts going around it a circle. Ha Ha!  When I stepped outside after, the sweat on my face crystallized.  

This is Derek's 1st and my 5th half marathon.

The Best Start of the Year 2012!

We had a nice Christmas surprise!  We went to Disneyland during the Christmas Break with the family.  Disneyland is truly the happiest place on earth!

Whenever we would take pictures with the Disney Characters, Ashlyn would cry. It must have been Aladdin's charming smile. 

Ashlyn was so scared to be next to Pluto.  After we took the picture and I told her that Pluto was a doggy.  She immediately started her cute whimper sound she makes whenever she sees a dog.

As our small little family, we spent a couple of hours in Toontown.  Ashlyn is crawling in Goofy's garden.

Derek decided to do "No Shave December" which lasted until he went back to school mid January. I was so disgusted while he thinks he is the sexiest man alive!

Ashlyn had an amazing adventure crawling around on the beach, playing with the seaweed, watching the birds, and finding random toes in the sand which scared her to death when they wiggled.
